Beyond the first wave of feminism, the 1700’s feminists were not as existent. Most of the major feminist movements happened in the first and second wave. In the 1700’s the women were basically defenseless. They did not work but instead took care of the children and home. The woman of the 1700's were not allowed to work simply because they were women. They are what people have called “house wives” during that era. The men of the houses worked instead. In modern day lives, this practice is still present, but most women work in order to provide for their own families or themselves.
The picture shows how the women in the 1700’s were doing as housewives. The women cooked, cleaned, and took care of the children.
